After finding a 'Public Relations Graduate' job vacancy, I would set to work scribbling out a creative cover letter, tweaking my CV, landing the interview and spending hours preparing for it, only to discover on arrival that what they were after was a marketing assistant or an advertising guru. Frustrating on all fronts, no doubt.

Re: Purzue Interviews: Robert McIntosh – Senior Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

Very interesting, but I think something was mistranscribed: "is a slippery slope" should replace "is simply slope"

Re: Purzue Interviews: Karl Schlegel, Senior Partner of Branded Global, Inc. & Managing Partner of SchlegelSignals LLC

Thanks Lindsay! I thought about that a lot as I launched my freelance editing/writing business, and it's helped keep me on track a time or two! Thanks for the tips.

Re: Get To Know: Mark Arneman

You guys make me feel so special!

Re: Get To Know: Mark Arneman

#1 Greatest of All Time

Re: Purzue Interviews: Arleen Bradley, Career Coach at Arleen Bradley Career Coaching

Great Comments.

Re: More Proof That Hiring and Dating Aren’t So Different

An infographic on the similarities of dating & interviewing: http://bit.ly/11ug3We

Daniel W. I've been in business for 26 years and go out and pitch new business on a regular basis. Getting a new job = getting a new client; so many of the same things apply. Sales competencies are a must because you are engaged in the sale of your life---your next job.

Re: Get to know: Janelle Ferraro

A+

Re: Starbucks And The 4 Keys To Social Media Engagement

I totally agree with this point of doing something instead of the fact that whether it is for you or not...engaging customers is not as easy as it seems to be..
